I'm actually pretty late to say this but Spring is here! But as the saying goes 'It's better to be late than never.' So gone are the icy cold winds and ultra thick coats, and welcome the blossoming of flowers + the smell of fresh grass. Spring came in the beginning of September and we were so honoured to catch the annual Hanami festival that happened on Mt. Dandenong last Sunday. All the Sakura (aka cherry blossom) flowers bloomed with pride as if they knew it was the time of the year again. We got to witness some Japanese drums performance, tasted tea during the tea ceremony, took photos with (&of) flowers as well as met up with a few Singaporean & Malaysian families. I also made some little friends along the way. The whole experience was great and I'm so glad I got to understand a small part of the traditional Japanese culture in the modern Melbourne.
I'll definitely come again next year.
