A date with the 60s & 70s

Spent the day with my parents at Prahran and Oakleigh where we visited the exciting vintage and the not-so-interesting wholesale fruits markets. Before we stopped by the market at Prahran, I fancied this lane that had graffiti all over. Turns out there was a graffiti cafe nearby. *Moving on to our destination* The vintage market is known as the Chapel Street Bazaar where there are literally hundreds and thousands of different vintage pieces arranged tightly in glass cupboards and on display. Patronisers get to purchase those they take interest in and the varieties present are endless. I felt very overwhelmed because my eyes just can't seem to focus on a certain object because there are sooo many things to see. The choices are unlimited. If there's a chance, it's a must to visit this particular market/bazaar because it's such an eye opener. Objects & tools from the 60s and 70s are really innovative, brightly coloured and peculiar (in a good way). Didn't purchase anything in the end but I had a really great time. We moved on to Oakleigh's wholesale fruits market and I didn't really like it because the fruits were lousy quality though they were really cheap. No point because it's not really edible :-/ All we bought were a bunch of bananas that costs 80c and a bag of nuts. The highlight of Oakleigh was probably the promotional signboard of a florist shop using the lyrics of Bruno Mars' "If I was your man". I literally burst out laughing.

Drove to Prahran (city drives suck by the way. Panic attacks all the time) then to Vermont South to collect my handbook from the child care (feeling the love once more from my beloved children) then to Oakleigh before reaching home to prepare dinner. Blue potatoes make really good roast with olive oil, minced garlic and rosemary. You should definitely try it one day if there are some in the supermarket :-)

All suburbs seem to be more happening than where I'm living now. Don't know why. Anyway, have a good Easter holiday! Happy Easter everyone :-)
