Happy Halloweenie!

"Trick or treat, Smell my feet
Give me something good to eat!
If you don't, I don't care,
I'll pull down your underwear!"

This is a short post dedicated to this very special day. Even though this isn't much of an adventure,  it is still significant to me because it's my first year celebrating Halloween in a different country. Sisters and I decided to get Halloween tatts to get into the festive mood.

However, here in Australia, Halloween is sadly not as widely celebrated as in America. It is pretty much just like any normal day of any year, with it being the last day of October. It's actually just like Singapore. So much for being a western country :( Despite this, there will still be groups of enthusiastic children who will dress up for the occasion and go around doing trick-or-treats.

& so this year I decided to do something special. I decided to treat (no pun intended) my family to a Halloween dinner. It consists of an appetiser, main course and dessert: Japanese style. Before creating the dishes I watched a few YouTube videos and I got inspirations from the great Ochikeron (See Quirky post). She does simple but creative Japanese dishes.

Appetiser: Mini Jack-O-Lanterns, rice balls wrapped with smoked salmon;
Main course: Japanese curry with rice, starring Bear the Wizard; and
Dessert: Frankenstein green tea pound cake.

(Sorry for the bad pictures, the lighting was not too good.)

A few groups of children came to our doorstep to do trick-or-treats. Fortunately, we did have some treats. Otherwise our house might be tp-ed (toilet papered) all over tonight. And yes, I shamelessly asked if I could take pictures of them :o) Glad they were so cooperative.

Hope you guys had a great Halloween! Cheers to the nice & warm weather today.
