Finders Keepers

Hello ________ yet again (Insert your own name)

This week's adventure was a rather unique and exciting one and that's because the Finders Keepers Melbourne market is here. Yes, it's the Spring/Summer 2012 one and it was held at the Royal Exhibition Building yesterday night and today (20 Oct) from 10am-5pm.

Basically it's where all new home-grown Australian designers come together to sell their own handmade/hand printed products and where fresh, aspiring musicians can showcase their talents. In other words, think different Etsy stores coming together in a grand lovely building with a touch of music and sounds. It's actually my first time finding out about such an event through the Frankie Magazine Twitter page and I'm so glad I did. Here's the promotional poster for the event:

Pretty neat huh?

So this event was so HUGE (even bigger and better than before) that I don't think we finished walking through all the stalls. BUNTINGS, crafts, stickers, cards, clothings, vases, lamps, food, bags, etc were sold. It was a massive thrift-store-kinda layout, just that the prices were a lil bit on the high side. The experience was so impressive that I felt lost in awe just walking around the different stalls.

However, you know what was the highlight of the day? Meeting the Frankie crew! Yes, Frankie Magazine actually had a stall at the event and they even brought Betsy the caravan! They came so prepared, I was just...speechless. The Frankie crew was there to promote their 50th issue and say hello to everybody. I was so thankful that I got a photo of them! Such lovely people they are, I love how friendly and cute they looked in their vintage outfits. Will always be a big fan of theirs.

Huge admiration for these new, up and coming designers. It requires lots of courage, passion, determination, hard work, cooperation and talent to try and create something special in a world that has probably lost its originality. We certainly need more of these aspiring designers in our lives. Much praise for them! Love every single bit of effort you guys have spent.

It was such an overwhelming adventure that I simply cannot comprehend it into words.

However, if you want me to, let's just say we made our way to the Royal Exhibition Building, walked by different stalls, gasped at their superb creativity skills, wrote down 'Three things to help change the world', ate our homemade burgers (by Papa) took photos of everything nice and had fun in Betsy the caravan.

Pretty bad summary but oh wells. Until then, adieu.

PS: The ''3 Things'' photo that has 'Bitch less, Be positive, Eat more': not ours, it belonged to somebody who was being honest and real to himself/herself. Cheers to you, Awesome Person. ;)
